This week we will continue our Cold War unit by looking at the rise and fall of the Berlin Wall. You will examine this key event form 2 perspectives: The democratic/capitalist West German perspective and the USSR controlled Communist East German perspective. 1. Watch the "May 11: Berlin Wall Lesson" 2. Watch the documentary on YouTube "History of the Berlin Wall" 3. Complete the "May 11 - Berlin Wall Perspective assignment" where you will write about the creation of the Berlin wall from both perspectives.

This week we will learn about the initial actions and policies that instigated the Cold War, focusing on the Truman Doctrine, Marshall Plan, Berlin Blockade and Airlift, and 1956 Hungarian revolt. 1.
